Tonight some wood mice crept over my canoe. Some rabbits and owls came close too. The next minute all the animals ran away. I wondered why. Just then my question was answered... when a huge wolverine lumbered into view! I was so scared!! I thought it would gobble me up, but it just sniffed me and then moved on. What a relief!
The next morning, the sun was so hot! The snow was melting! I even saw some tiny flowering plants beginning to pop up from the ground. Just then the ground split open! I landed in the water and turned upside down! Then the ballast on my canoe turned my canoe right side up.
I saw the little boy who had made me running after me. He said, "Ho! You have started on your journey!"
